Matt is based in Leeds (having escaped the clutches of the bleak urban island that is Burnley at an early age). This album is driven by acoustic ideas and Matt’s folk informed vocal style. Hes happy to tackle the higher notes with success, strumming along with additional highlights coming in the form of brass and keyboards. The best thing about Entropy is the way it looks to traditional folk for its best references, whilst keeping a sense of mainstream accessibility. Instrumental in A-Minor is proof enough, that his acoustic guitar work is as distinguished as his song writing, with Clockward providing another notable peak on an accomplished debut.
